Anyone entering through the gates at the end of Muhunoa West Road will be fully aware they have come to a place where enhanced environmental outcomes are sought and continue to be improved. By developing sections and providing the residents the opportunity to own 1/15th share of the common land< over 50 hectares>, the residents will be encouraged to actively contribute to the ecology of their surroundings and become guardians of it for future generations. Ohau Sands invites you to be part of the eco forest development and continue expanding its bio-diversity.
Common Land
The Link road takes you past the Notable Forest. The Notable forest is a flat grassed area with different tree species, this area is ideal for picnics where you can enjoy the late sun.
The Notable forest provides a private sanctuary that can be enjoyed by all the Ohau residents.

The Scenic Roads of Ohau Sands
Entrance to Ohau Sands
Approaching Ohau Sands from Muhunoa West Road, you will see a beautiful entrance gate framed with palm trees and Toi Toi flax. Ohau Sands is a gated community and the entrance gate is key pad operated.
Entrance to Sections One and Two
Sections One and Two have a private entrance approximately 100 metres from the main entrance gate. The private driveway is framed by native trees and shrubs. As you are driving down towards the main entrance you will see silky oaks planted on the right.
Link Road, Sections Three to Fifteen
The Link road follows on from the main entrance. The Link road forks to the left for direct access to sections nine and fifteen. Following straight ahead you will drive past section thirteen to the right. Section fourteen driveway is to the left then section twelve is to the right. The link road takes you past the Notable forest and access to the remaining sections.
